Ya Hussain ×5
Ya Hussain.
Yazid said, “A great army is in my hands.”
Hussain replied, Hussain replied,
Hussain replied, “The outcome is in the hands of God.”
Yazid said, “If you pledge allegiance, there is treasure for you.”
Hussain... Hussain replied, “I must face my Grandfather.”
Yazid said, “I am an oppressor; I commit oppression.”
Hussain... Ya Hussain.
Hussain replied, “I am a Sayyed; I remain patient.”
Ya Hussain ×2
Those tents are burning; this is Shaam-e-Ghareeban ×3
These bodies lie scattered in the wilderness ×2
And now Shaam is the prison.
Those tents are burning; this is Shaam-e-Ghareeban ×2
In only a short while, the house of Fatima was ruined ×2

There is now only smoke.
Those tents are burning; this is Shaam-e-Ghareeban ×2
When Akbar gave the call to prayer, there was no such helplessness then ×2
That was the azaan of the morning ×2
This is the azaan of the evening.
Those tents are burning; this is Shaam-e-Ghareeban ×2
One worshipper is without a head, one Ghazi is without hands ×2
In the chest of a young one ×2
There lies a broken spear.
Those tents are burning; this is Shaam-e-Ghareeban ×2
The guard has changed; now there is Zainab, and there is Karbala ×2
Now in Zainab’s hand ×2
Is the standard of Abbas.
Those tents are burning; this is Shaam-e-Ghareeban ×2
“What are you searching for, O wounded heart? Come close, Sakina” ×2
O one who used to sleep upon his chest ×2
Your Father is here.
Those tents are burning; this is Shaam-e-Ghareeban ×2
Whether Rehan or Sarwar, both are servants of Sayyeda ×2
