Akhri Sajda

Akhri Sajda is a deeply emotional Noha about the final sajda of Imam Hussain (AS) in Karbala. The kalaam reflects the loneliness of Hussain after the martyrdom of Akbar, Abbas, and his companions, the grief inside the tents, and his complete submission to Allah in the final moments of sacrifice. The highest Throne began to tremble, And Karbala began to weep. He was among thousands of killers, Yet by God, this is the truth: There was no one between Hussain And his Lord. Hussain was in prostration, And on his lips was this call: Take me, my Allah, now into Your care. Master, Your servant is now in Your care. I have become weary of this life; I am performing my final prostration. Glory be to my Lord, the Most High. I hear the call of the Asr azan; I must now face my final test. All around me are arrows, spears, and lances; These are the preparations for my killing. They know whose grandson I am. They know why I have come. I only deliver Your message, Yet still I am made the target of oppression. Neither my household nor my army remains. The grief of Akbar and Abbas has consumed me. I kept bearing so many wounds upon my heart; Thank God, the promise has been fulfilled. The world will remember forever How we were plundered in the desert, How we were kept thirsty beside the river, And how my final prostration took place. There is chaos in the tents, my God. My daughters and sisters are mourning. My lonely Sajjad lies unconscious. After me, You alone are their support. Now, at my final breath, my mother has come. My dear father has come with her. My brother Hassan weeps upon the dust. My grandfather watches my trial. As soon as the King placed his head upon the dust, The accursed Shimr moved toward the Shah. The earth trembled, blood began to rain, And Shabbir’s final cry echoed: Take me now into Your care. Master, Your servant is now in Your care. I have become weary of this life; I am performing my final prostration.
