لاش اکبر کی جو مقتل سے اٹھا لائے حسین نوجوان کو صفِ اوّل سے اٹھا لائے حسین چاند کو شام کے بادل سے اٹھا لائے حسین جاں بلب شیر کو جنگل سے اٹھا لائے حسین ×2 دی صدا لاشِ پسر آ کے لے جا بانو چھد گیا برچھی سے اکبر کا کلیجہ بانو لاش اکبر کی جو۔۔۔ دیکھ لے آخری دیدار، پسر مرتا ہے سامنے آنکھوں کے یہ نورِ نظر مرتا ہے اب کوئی دم میں تیرا رشکِ قمر مرتا ہے منہ سے باہر ہے زباں، تشنہ جگر مرتا ہے ×2 دم ہے سینے میں رکا، زخموں سے خون جاری ہے ہائے بانو، تیرا گھر لٹنے کی تیاری ہے لاش اکبر کی جو۔۔۔ پہنچی خیمے میں جو حضرت کی یہ پُر درد صدا مضطرب ہو گئی ناموسِ رسولِ دو سرا کہا چلا کے سکینہ نے کہ ہائے ہائے بھیا فضہ دوڑی سوئے در، پھینک کے سر پر سے ردا ×2 سر پیٹتی زینبِ مضطر نکل آئی باہر بانو گھبرا کے کھلے سر نکل آئی باہر لاش اکبر کی جو۔۔۔ شاہ کے کاندھے پہ دیکھا علی اکبر کو نڈھال ہاتھ پھیلا کے یہ چلائی کہ ہائے ہائے میرے لال کیا غضب ہو گیا اے بادشاہِ نیک خصال راس آیا نہ میرے بچے کو اٹھارواں سال ×2 ٹکڑے تیغوں سے بدن ہو گیا سارا، ہائے ہائے کون تھا جس نے میرے شیر کو مارا، ہائے ہائے لاش اکبر کی جو۔۔۔ رو کے بانو سے یہ فرمانے لگے سرورِ دیں سر نہ پیٹو، ابھی زندہ ہے میرا ماہ جبیں سانس آتی ہے، پہ ہر دم ہے دمِ باز پسیں کوچ ان کا بھی ہے اور ہم بھی ہیں مرنے کے قریب ×2 سب چھٹے، اب نہ رہا کوئی ہمارا بانو اس جوان بیٹے کے غم نے ہمیں مارا بانو ×2 لاش اکبر کی جو۔۔۔
When Hussain lifted Akbar’s body from the battlefield, He lifted that young son from the front rank. Hussain lifted the moon from the clouds of evening. He lifted the dying lion from the wilderness ×2 He called out: “Bano, come and take the body of your son. Akbar’s heart has been pierced by a spear, Bano.” The body of Akbar... Look at him for the final time; your son is dying. Before your eyes, the light of your sight is dying. In just a few moments, your moon-like beloved will die. His tongue is out from thirst; his wounded heart is dying ×2 His breath is trapped within his chest, and blood flows from his wounds. Alas Bano, the ruin of your home is being prepared. The body of Akbar... When that grief-filled call of Hussain reached the tent, The honour of the Prophet’s household became restless. Sakina cried out loudly: “Alas, alas, my brother!” Fizza ran toward the door, throwing the veil from her head ×2 The distressed Zainab came out beating her head in grief. Bano, terrified, came out bareheaded. The body of Akbar... On the shoulder of the Shah, she saw Ali Akbar helpless and broken. She stretched out her hands and cried: “Alas, alas, my son!” “What tragedy has happened, O King of noble character? My child did not even live to enjoy his eighteenth year ×2 His whole body has been cut into pieces by swords — alas, alas. Who was it that killed my lion — alas, alas?” The body of Akbar... Weeping, the Leader of Faith began to say to Bano: “Do not beat your head; my moon-faced son is still alive. He is breathing, but every breath is like the final breath. His departure is near, and we too are close to death ×2 Everyone has left us; no one remains ours now, Bano. The grief of this young son has killed me, Bano ×2” The body of Akbar...
